“I hate our wood deck”, Kristi told her husband Mike Mullarkey and I on a cold & rainy night this April.

We were in the kitchen of their Phoenixville home where we already replaced some windows back in 2010. They invited me back to their home that night for more windows and a new patio door. That’s when Kristi told us how she really felt about their deck...

“The kids get splinters. The railing makes it feel ‘closed-in’. I don’t like the way it looks”, Kristi said, “I would love a paver patio”.

Mike and Kristi told me they enjoy having family and friends over. They wanted a patio for both children and adults to have fun.

I showed Mike and Kristi photographs of patios we built with bars, grilles, seat walls, fireplaces, waterfalls, fire pits

- even pizza ovens. 

I showed them pictures of Milanese Remodeling Patios with Outdoor kitchens, wet bars, firepits, even Pizza Ovens!



Kristi wanted room for parties. She liked the idea of a waterfall and wanted a sitting wall.

Mike wanted to make sure there was space for the grille and a spot for the guys to hang out. When Mike found out about outdoor television, he knew he wanted it.

They both wanted an awning to shade hot midday sun and protect parties from light rain.



I took measurements and drew sketches to help Mike and Kristi visualize their patio. By the end of April we had a plan and a budget. Kristi chose colors for the patio and awning. I agreed to try and have the project done by Father’s Day, so Mike could throw a party for his Dad and brothers on the new patio.

I secured permits and ordered the custom materials . Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided not to cooperate. Record breaking Spring rains swamped the Mullarkey yard. We worked in

-between raindrops.

The week before Father’s Day a dozen workers were on hand to complete the project. It looked like a Reality TV Show, but everything got done correctly, on time and within budget.

On Father’s Day, the Mullarkey family enjoyed a barbecue on their new patio and watched the US Open on their outdoor television.

“We love our new backyard”, Kristi said.

Mike Mullarkey thanked me for a job well done and told me, “We would gladly recommend Milanese Remodeling to anyone!”

The waterfall makes even a hot summer day feel cool.  Sit down, share a cool drink with a friend and smile!

The retractable Durasol Awning was a must for the Outdoor Television Patio.  It shades the patio and cuts the glare on the Outdoor Television.

Mike & Kristi took back their backyard.  Now the whole family has a great time outside!

A sitting wall adds seating all year round.  Perfect for a FirePit.  Mike and Kristi decided to have a protable firepit, so the seating area could be used for different purposes.

Mike & Kristi made sur etheir patio was large enough for a crowd.  They added a Durasol Awning for shade.

Mike Mullarkey loves watching sports on outdoor television.  He doesnt miss a Phiillies game.  Its more phone outdoors.  He invites friends and neighbors.  They can smoke a cigar, spill beer and cheer as loud as they want!
